Now let’s go from the beginning and see how Long Tail Pro works.
Keyword Research
On the main screen, you will see the option Default where you can create a project before you start with keyword researching.
Below the Default, there is Seed Keyword box where you can enter any of your chosen keywords.
After writing your chosen keyword in the search box, press the Retrieve and you will get minimum 20 suggestions per keyword.
For each suggestion you will get these metrics:
Avg. KC, Volume, Bid, Words, Rank Value, Language, and Location.
AVG. KC – it shows you how competitive is your keyword suggestion in Google search engine.
Here you need to look for the keyword suggestion with the green color, which indicates you will rank easier in Google.
Volume – this is the number that people have searched for that keyword suggestion, based for the chosen country and your Search Network Targeting.
Bid – is the CPC cost per click number, and you need to know this applies to Adwords.
Rank Value – This is the estimate monthly value of the ranking for the suggestion keyword in the top organic results.
This result is determined by using Adwords suggestion bid and the estimate CTR – click-through rate.
Also, you can use the “Set Rank Value” option and choose any of the drop-down choices to do customization if you need results for Google Adwords, Amazon Affiliate or check a custom visitor value.
Which to be honest I don’t believe this info is 100% accurate.
If you don’t intend to use this option to customize for your specific needs, the results that you will get here will be mainly displayed by default for Google AdWords, not for Amazon Affiliate.
Words – this is telling you how many words have the suggested keyword.
Lang – is your chosen language
Location – for which location you need the data for your research
Suggestions Per Keyword – with this feature in Long Tail Pro you can choose how many suggestions per keyword will be displayed.
Initially, are displayed 20 suggestions per keyword. So you have the option to choose between 20 suggestions per keyword and 400 maximum suggestions for your main chosen keyword.
The results that you are getting are almost instantly or sometimes take 3 to 4 seconds which I think is pretty fast. Maximum can be displayed 50 keyword suggestions on the screen.
Also, it’s allowed to you to customize your displayed results by using the Filter. Here you have many options to choose how you want to be displayed your desired results.
Long Tail Pro also allows you to Export your displayed data to your computer or upload to the cloud and later whenever you want you can analyze them.
Rank Tracker
This is the next feature below the Keyword Research. Here you can enter the URL and the keyword for that URL and you can monitor ranking on all three search engines Google, Yahoo, and Bing.
Here you will be provided with results for: current ranking, yesterday ranking, last week and last month. See the image below:
